Josh had another hunt here in Colorado. He went out all by himself and got this bad boy...
He was huge!!! About 300lbs.
I have to say I've been pleasantly surprise at how much I like the meat. The hamburger meat-not a fan!!! But the rest has been really good.
He got stopped by one of the Conservation Officers and she said it was the biggest one she's seen in the area of his hunt. He shot once and the guy just fell to the ground. Some other hunter offered to help Josh get it off the mountain, what nice hunters!

Brian has been making jerky out of his deer meat. It is actually quite good. I never liked deer meat much but liked the elk meat. Grandma Bates would bottle some cube steak and make a good dish with sliced potatoes on the top of the meat with a gravy sauce. It hid the deer flavor really well.
That is the biggest deer I have ever seen! Congratulations, Josh!
How long did it take you to cut and wrap the meat. You'll be eating well this winter. Congrats!
