Favorite time of the day!!!

Checking on my girls before we go to bed.
It melts my heart to see them sleeping so peacefully. It's also a little overwhelming because as I watch them and think about their future and who they are going to become I realize that responsibility rests on us, as parents to teach and guide them through this life. Of course there is someone that is always there for us when we need the help.
They amaze me everyday and make me laugh! They are such a blessing and I am completely honored to be called their mother. I just hope I can live up to that precious title, for their sake.

Camping.......Us...........No Way!!!

Isn't that beautiful!! You're jealous aren't you!! This lake is called Turquoise Lake and the picture doesn't do it justice. This is where we camped.
Ayva and Cheyenne packed into the car along with the rest of the gear. Cheyenne enjoyed playing with daddy's fishing poles.
This was our campsite. I think it's the best one we've been to so far.
Ayva loves to wander and collect things.
This time they were pine cones.
We had only been there for minutes and this is what Ayva looked like. Nice huh!!
Cheyenne just hanging out.
Ayva thought this was very fun.
Josh trying to take a nap but his girls didn't think that was a good idea.
Ayva and Cheyenne asleep for the night, phew!
This is Ayva in her new hat. She did pretty good keeping it on.
VIDEO

Ayva can now count to 5 in spanish. This video didn't catch her saying uno but got the rest. We were on our way to another lake when out of nowhere we here Ayva saying uno, dos, tres, quatro, cinco. It was quite a shock, we didn't know she could do that.

It's kind of hard to see but I'm in that yellow kayak in the middle of the picture. Yes I went out and did some physical activity.
Ayva waiting her turn to ride in the kayak and also testing out the water in her boots, yes we love her dearly.
Ayva and her daddy taking a ride in the kayak.
Ayva loves pretending to drive, what kid doesn't though?

This is Ayva using eye glass cases as phones.

This is a lake that we stopped at on the way home and Josh caught the limit, 4 fish, in about 10 minutes.

I think we wore Ayva out. This was on our way home. Very nutricious, right! She fell asleep with her hand in the fries.

We ended up taking 10 fish home with us. Anyone need some fish? My freezer is filling up pretty fast.

CAN YOU FIND CHEYENNE?

Cheyenne hasn't been sleeping in Ayva's room and on Sunday night we thought we'd give it a try. So we put both of them down at the same time, mistake! They were both still awake and ready to play. So after about an hour I thought I'd check on them. I slowly opened the door and noticed that the floor was amazing clear of toys, that's when I saw the crib.
I thought it was nice that she was sharing her toys but it could have been a disaster. Some of those toys are big and hard and if they had hit Cheyenne in the head I'm sure we would have had a long night.
Ayva enjoys getting a reaction from Cheyenne, she just starts laughing.

Are you bored yet with camping/fishing posts?

I remembered my camera this time and this is the lake we went to on Saturday. It was very beautiful. There were a ton of people there and that is why we had quite a hike to where we finally settled in, that's not an easy task with two little girls.

This is Josh with just some of the stuff we brought. And as you can see the terrain wasn't very friendly.
This is where Ayva ended up, right in front of the water. She had a blast throwing rocks into the water and watching the fish come in. He caught 5 this time.

She also had fun watching the little chipmunks come in right next to her and eat the food that was dropped her.
I was a little reluctant to put this one on because I just look awful, no pitty party just honest. If you can't tell I got burned, again!!!

Another Camping Adventure!!!

Sorry for the lack of posts, it's been a little busy around here.
We went camping this weekend and it was a very successful trip. We tried out this lake up in the mountains just north of I-70. It was pretty secluded, that was nice. We set up camp and Josh did a little fishing before dinner. Oh and I forgot the camera so I don't have any photos of the trip, sorry.
Ayva had a blast running around picking up sticks and rocks and all sorts of things. And of course, she fell down a few times. She also didn't like the bathroom, it was a glorified outhouse. The first time in there she said, "Lets get out uf here mama." Ayva loves being outside.
Josh caught a fish Friday night after dinner so he was pretty excited. He couldn't wait for the next morning.
Saturday morning he got up really early to get started and nothing was biting. The girls and I were then up and about and after a while I started getting sleepy so the three of us took a nap (not a very long one). When I was getting Ayva's shoes on Josh opened the tent and showed me what he just caught (the top one in the photo below). I wish I would have had the camera. It was a 22 1/2 inch rainbow trout before he got all stiff. It's his record catch. He was very proud and Ayva was very proud of her daddy too.
It's crazy how much a fish shrinks when it comes out of the water.

We had lunch there and then packed up camp and set out to another lake nearby. A little more north of our camp are three big lakes; Granby, Shadow Mt. and Grand lakes. Josh wanted to try out Granby because people have been reporting lake trout being caught, I guess those are huge fish.

Granby lake is beautiful. It's surrounded by huge mountains and remember I didn't have my camera with me. Well most areas you have to hike down the side of pretty steep cliffs to get to the lake. We pulled off and hiked down with Cheyenne in her carrier, Ayva, fishing supplies and baby supplies. Boy that was a work out but when we got down there, it was worth it. It was so beautiful.

Josh put in a couple poles and took a third one and walked down the shore a bit. So I was playing with Ayva and her shovel and pail and I heard something. I looked over at the poles and one had gone in the water so I jumped up yelling for Josh and I went after the pole. I got it and looked up and saw a fish jump out of the water so I started reeling it in and I DID IT, I CAUGHT MY FIRST FISH EVER. Actually I didn't really catch it, I only reeled it in (In the photo below mine is the one below Josh's record fish, I caught a 14 1/2 incher).

So it was a pretty successful camping trip. The weather was pretty nice too and of course Josh and I got burned again. Don't worry the girls didn't.
