Deanna Rose Farmstead outing...

We started our adventure in front of the waterfall where they threw pennies into the pond. Cheyenne's didn't get very far so I helped it in.

These chili peppers where in with the flowers like they were apart of them. It looked gorgeous!

Cheyenne really wanted to get a good look at the prairie dogs.

Here they are looking at the buffalo.

Apparently the buffalo looked at Cheyenne wrong, she walked away sulking.

It was filled with beautiful flowers (and bees).

I said, "Smile." And that's what I get!

The goats scared her at first.

Something else must have looked at Cheyenne in the wrong way.

Apparently Bambi was a goat, according to Ayva. And Cheyenne was brave enough to pat him.

I think the pigs looked at her wrong this time.

They had a playground there too. So much stuff to do there and it was free, crazy! You don't see that much.

We went back to the little cabin, it was nice, shaded and cool! What a cute girl. Obviously Ayva is doing better but Cheyenne is now sick, and they did so good!

Well, not the whole time. Cheyenne wasn't very happy here...

but she had fun chasing the geese.

She was waving Hi to the chickens and was a little disappointed when they didn't respond.

Grandma got Ayva an ice cream and she loved it!

We spotted Grandpa as we were leaving and he got these shots from outside the gate.

Isn't that a nice artistic shot, good job dad!

The girls were done!

For being sick, they lasted a long time!

I think we should go, NOW! She's like her dad, NO MORE PICTURES!!! After Deanne Rose we went to the Great Mall to play in the play area. While all the kids were playing, this is my girl, just relaxing in the life raft! She did have a long day of play, I don't blame her.

Fun times in Kansas

So this is what we've been dealing with since we've arrived here in Kansas. Ayva has been sick. We took her to the doctor and they gave us some medicine. She's doing better but still under the weather. Cheyenne has been having a ball exploring and getting into everything.

We made it!!!

Stroller Off Roading, candy, sleep and fireworks...

We decided to pay a visit to The Garden of the Gods on the 4th. It's a park of big red rocks here in Colorado Springs full of hiking trails. We've never been there so we didn't know what to expect. That day the park was full of people and cars. So we finally found a place and thought we could meet up with some of the trails. Well here is a visual for you to see our stroller off roading experience...and yes we were getting looks from everyone we passed!

The girls were having fun!!!

Not very stroller friendly! Yes we feel very stupid after that hike.

They do horseback riding tours here and so we came across a ton of horse droppings. The whole way we heard, "Mama, more horse poops!" "Yucky horse poopies!" "That smells stinky!" She was right, it did stink!

We finally made it to a place that wasn't so bad, still no paved areas.

After our little picture stop, yes, it started raining. At first it was a light sprinkle, not bad. Josh asked if I wanted to go back and I said, "No, it's not bad." Famous last words. We kept trucking along and of course, we got a down poor. Good thing I remembered the umbrellas.

At this point we had reached a road, so I stayed with the girls and Josh ran back for the car. So the bottom half of my body was wet, at least the umbrella kept the top half of me and the girls dry.

Josh pulled up and as we got to the car I noticed the trails were magically paved. Oh, our luck sometimes just kills me!

Despite our interesting experience, it is a beautiful place.

We put the girls in the car and started driving off and Cheyenne was out!

No, Ayva's not naked. Daddy stopped on the way home and got them treats. M&Ms, their favorite.

We were lucky to have a fireworks display right outside our front door. The Air Force Academy put on a show so we just sat in our driveway. Ayva was excited and Cheyenne too...

for a few minutes. Those two got bored with it real fast, not me, I love fireworks! I had a blast!

Not my family though, after a few minutes of watching here is my hubby picking weeds.

Cheyenne decided that was a good idea too. Why not, fireworks pull weeds, there's just no question!

They finally stopped and watched a little more.

And here is our little doggy trying to dig a whole in the cement. Sometimes it's scary how in character she gets. That's my girl!

Barks like a dog, pants, on all fours, even scratches behind her ears with her foot, wants her food in a bowl on the floor sometimes, whining like a dog, howls like a dog and so on. It's incredible!

Should I be worried???

Summer fun...

I'm back again.

It's been a hot summer so I decided to finally get a little pool. Last time I got one was when Ayva was like 1 and she hated it! Cheyenne liked it ok but if Ayva leaves her she'll get mad. I think they were more excited about it when I took it out of the package and blowing it up, as soon as the water when in they were a little nervous.

I had to put this in, look at that baby gut!!! It cracked me up!!!

And here's my girl, making her mark on the world.

I think I need to splurge and get Cheyenne a new bathing suit. That is Ayva's very first swim suit from when she was 1, Cheyenne is like 20 months.

Along with being hot we have been getting these little thunderstorms (nothing compared to my Kansas storms, I miss those!). So it gets hot and in the afternoon a little thunderstorm rolls in, rains for a little bit and one day we were graced with this...
